G.B.S.A.
Sail Georgian Bay Starting in 1996, local children, summer residents, and holidaying families were treated to the O.S.A. BOOM traveling sailing school program at Meaford and Thornbury. Each year the length of the BOOM program was increased from one week to two weeks to four weeks, until it was evident in 2000 that it was time to have a permanent community sailing program. 80 people took the course in 4 weeks last summer. GBSA applied to the Trillium Foundation to help fund a new program, and Sail Georgian Bay was born in the fall of 2000.Offering a variety of courses to suit different age-groups and skill-levels, Sail Georgian Bay offers children and grown-ups Sail Georgian Bay will be held at Meaford Harbour , running all summer. In May and June we plan to bring the program into the classroom at the local schools, teaching water safety, and an introduction to sailing. Visit www.meaford.com. for more information on these great programs! Collingwood Sailing School
